Care Teams
The Care Teams of Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church are representative of the heartbeat of church: sharing God’s love. Divided into three groups, each Care Team is different, but all share this same goal.
Care Team 1: This team, led by several men and women, meets several times during the year to put together “Care Bags.” The bags contain all kinds of items, such as candy, lotion, fruit, etc. Each bag is delivered to one of the homebound people in our church family with a prayer and a smile.
Care Team 2: Composed of several smaller teams and referred to as the “Monday Morning Care Team,” this team is responsible for sending cards, thank you notes, or taking meals to people in our church family. They meet with the pastors each week to determine needs.
Care Team 3: Called the “Pass It On” team, this team is focused on meeting specific needs, such as sitting for short periods with someone who is ill, helping with light maintenance around a home, giving someone a ride to the store, or taking someone to lunch who no longer drives. One favorite event that the Pass It On team hosts is the monthly “Saturday Socials,” which are themed lunches for senior citizens. This team is alerted to any needs and Saturday Social event details through email. To be included on this list, please contact Jill Comfort through the church office.
These teams are wonderful opportunities to share God’s love. If you would like more information about serving on any of these teams, please contact the church office.
