Women's Ministries
Regardless of your role as a student, wife, mother, or executive, having good friends on the journey of life is a must. And at Mountain Chapel, we pray that you would find your place among friends with the variety of growth opportunities within our Women's Ministries. From our numerous Bible Studies to our Spring Retreat to the United Methodist Women's meetings and more, Mountain Chapel strives to be a place of rest, growth, encouragement, and friendship for every woman.
Fellowship Groups
Our women's monthly fellowship groups consist of a dinner on the first Thursday of every month at a home and a large gathering of all the groups twice a year. Please call or email (hyperlink to info@mountainchapel.org) the church office for more information about joining any of the below groups.
Red Hat Society meets once a month, generally the fourth Wednesday for lunch and fellowship. Contact the office for details.

Annual Spring Retreat
In 2007, a group of women from Mountain Chapel attended aWomen of Joy Conference in Gatlinburg, TN. Theresponsewas overwhelmingly positive so more retreats were planned. It is now an annual event. The purpose of the retreats is spiritual growth and renewal and the building of lasting friendships. They are held within driving distance of Birmingham. Past sites have included St. George Island, FL and Callaway Gardens in Georgia. The 2010 retreat will be held in Town Creek, AL at Doublehead Resort April 16-18.
United Methodist Women
The UMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ, develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
As a whole, the UMW meets on the first Tuesday of every month, September through May, at 9:30 am at the church with lunch following in the fireside room.
"Circles," consisting of smaller groups, meet as follows:
Faith Circle
Meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am in a member's home or at the church.
Joy Circle
Meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am in a member's home or at the church.
Fellowship Circle
Meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm in a member's home or at the church.
Serendipity Circle
Meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the church.

Call to Prayer Day
Sponsored by the United Methodist Women, Call to Prayer Day is held in the chapel from 9:00 am until noon for those who wish to spend some quiet time in prayer. Devotionals are also held at different times during this day by the pastors. Watch the Messenger and News and Events for more information.
